During their first year, babies begin to develop skills they will use for the rest of their lives.
Baby development can be broken down into the following areas:
Gross motor: controlling the head, sitting, crawling, even starting to walk
Fine motor: holding a spoon, picking up a piece of cereal between thumb and finger
Sensory: seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, and smelling
Language: starting to make sounds, learning words and understanding what people say
Social: the ability to play with family members and other children
TODDLER
Toddler Spanish Immersion Program is often a child’s first experience in preschool. At de Colores! S.I.P our objective is to help children transition easily, while creating a sense of security in a nurturing and inviting environment. Emphasis is placed on social interaction and age appropriate activities. Our thematic Spanish language curriculum includes instruction of sound of the letters, shapes, colors, and numbers. We take into account the developmental needs of each child, providing a mixture of group and individual activities to create an inviting and exciting immersion experience. Our goal is to make each day at De Colores! S.I.P a fun, positive and enriching experience for every child.
PRESCHOOL
The Preschool Spanish Immersion program at De Colores! is a unique program taught fully in Spanish and consisting of art, music, math, science, social studies and nutrition. Each subject offers a hands-on immersion environment that enhances the learning experience. We balance play, exploration and participation to maximize the child’s interest and learning, and to increase retention. We encourage children to be curious and interact with the environment around them, to interpret their experiences, and to share those experiences with their classmates…in Spanish, of course! provides a diverse experience where children will learn about the world and its cultures, while learning the social, academic and language skills that will be the foundation for future learning in elementary school and beyond. Children do not need to begin in the Toddler class or have a background in the Spanish language to excel at De Colores!.
PRE-K
Our Pre-K Spanish Immersion Program is designed to give students the tools needed to enter Kindergarten ready to go. Our curriculum is designed around the Estrellita Program Accelerated Beginning Spanish Reading checklist and the State Preschool Objectives, offering a well-rounded experience based on student exploration of the sciences, math, social and emotional growth, and literacy preparation. In this class the natural inquisition of each student is fostered and directed towards specific learning outcomes, with lots of room and time for the social growth and learning that is so important for this age, we do all the great stuff like play outside go sledding, and we engage them in dramatic play! Children do not need any Spanish language background to thrive in this class!
KINDERGARTEN SPANISH IMMERSION PROGRAM
Our Kindergarten Prep Spanish Immersion Program is designed to develop skills in core academic areas, such as reading, writing, math, and science in a Spanish immersion environment. In addition to those core academic areas, this program has curated key components and learning modules that educate each child in the following skill development areas:
Language acquisition
Artistic development
Fine motor skills
Gross motor skills
Social skills
Combining the essentials of early education with a focus on language, art, and social skill development, we prioritize cultivating high self-esteem, acceptance of Spanish culture and other cultures, relationship-building, and broader vision learning. These focuses will help your child shine in our multicultural world.
Children, in this program receive daily instruction in a Spanish Immersion format. Graduates of our Kindergarten Prep Program are shown to receive above-average scores on their Kindergarten entrance tests, readiness assessments, and a variety of other early development measurements.
SUMMER CAMP SPANISH IMMERSION PROGRAM:
Toddler, Preschoolers and School age children up to ten years old in this program will experience fun and educational Spanish activities during our Summer Camp Spanish Immersion Program. This program includes:
